Tax time is going to be interesting for me this year. In the past I’ve always worked for someone else and received a W2 at the end of the year detailing my earnings. This year, since I’ve been building out my home business, I have to gather that information for myself.

Making the Change for a Better Environment

Even members of my family were guilty of this and as a member of a volunteer organization; it took a while to de-program their way of thinking.

I had a teacher at my school that taught social studies and every so often, she would weave in actual politics that affected my community. Even though she grew up in a rough neighborhood as well, she wanted to use her resources to make things better.

So along with religious leaders and community activists, she created an aggressive program to recycle and utilize green living strategies like creating a simple solar panel to lower electric bills. With funding, a few paid and volunteer positions were created. I work part-time on the weekends.

Now my family and neighbors have gotten on the boat to see to it that the area is clean and people are working.
